Espresso (La Margarita)

For our first ever espresso selection we went with ONA’s La Margarita Lot 003 Peru Washed Geisha.

ONA is quite famous for the impact they have had on the industry and always working to innovate. However this Peruvian Geisha takes ONA back to a beautiful, classic expression of a washed geisha. It has a balanced citrus acidity with notes of peach, apricot and has jasmine florals.

This geisha was grown by Marco Solórzano who in 2021 entered into the Peru Cup of Excellence (COE) and came 6th with this specific Washed Geisha which landed them 6th Place.

In the COE this coffee scores 89.13.

While maybe not as expressive as the 2021 harvest this Geisha is worth the money. For the first current selection I was actually looking to go for a standardly priced espresso but this one blew me away and it was hard not to pick it (also the blog I wrote about a $23 geisha from Axil sold out)

Our recipe was 18 grams in, 39 out in 28 seconds with 94 degrees Celsius
